Tarnys: The World of Dungeoneer
At long last, we can now unveil more of the fantastic world that artist and game designer Thomas Denmark has begun to reveal with Dungeoneer. Over the next few weeks, we'll be slowly revealing Tarnys: The World of Dungeoneer section of our website. See it for yourself and you'll find original new art by Thomas Denmark and a map of the lands outside the dungeon. We're anxious to hear what you think of the game, too. So drop us a line with your thoughts. Until then, I'll see you in Tarnys.

GenCon SoCal

I thought I'd let everyone know that Atlas will be at GenCon SoCal, December 11th through the 14th in Anaheim, CA. We'll be featuring demos of Dungeoneer in the booth, and designer Thomas Denmark will be on hand for card signings and to talk about the game. He'll also have some of his stunning art available for purchase. If you're going to be there, be sure to stop by the Atlas booth!

Two Drops of Blood of the Valiant
Blood of the Valiant really is one of my favorite Feng Shui books. I'm delighted to have had a hand in bringing it back into print. Our new "Expanded Edition" features new art from folks like Kagan McLeod, Conley Philpott, and Scott Reeves, new graphics, the return of a few tidbits that had been cut from Chris (Green Ronin) Pramas's excellent original manuscript, and a whole new chapter from the prolific and talented game designer Keith Baker (En Route 2, Crime & Punishment). I'm interested to see fans compare this edition to the previous one.

Right now, you can inspect two pages from the new edition by downloading them in PDF format from our website. Meet Caesar Mack, Vietnam vet and founder of the Black Dragon School. See a flash of one possible future with "Crouching Tiger, Mad Max", a page from the book's new chapter on critical shifts triggered by Guiding Hand victories. When you've seen them, let us know what you think.

Place Your Bets Now
Las Vegas, the real city of lights, is just one of the stops on the national tour characters take in the new Unknown Armies campaign, To Go. The Gambler is just one of the many influential avatars in this glittering sinopolis in the desert. Game with the Gambler yourself by downloading our new Unknown Armies PDF right here. No ante, no quarters; you can sit at this table for free.

"The Gambler" PDF is an internet exclusive; it doesn't appear in To Go. You can find it right here, or you can go and check out www.Unknown-Armies.com, where it's also available. If you're an Unknown Armies fan and you haven't been to www.Unknown-Armies.com, then you're just an occult pedestrian. Street level. Go global and get the skinny on what's really weird.

Settlers of the Office
Yes, that's a Settlers of Catan joke. You couldn't tell because it was lame. But we're a game company and we're settling into our new office and I'm lame (!), so it seemed fitting. We'll see if I get mail about that.

Anyway, here we are in a new-to-us office, with fresh paint and fresh carpet, a dwindling amount of new warehouse space and a nice big meeting area that show's off the vast collection of books which Atlas has amassed over its ten years in the old digs. There are still some kinks to get worked out here, but at least I can now get back to being properly behind schedule rather than heinously behind schedule. I'm tackling some website work today and wrangling in Iron & Silk for the rest of the week. E-mail is once again flowing like the St. Croix, which is to say steadily and cold. So, if you can't get a hold of me this week it's not because of the network, it's because I'm busy and avoiding you. Fair warning.

Now, to distract you, here are some pictures of the new office as it appeared last week during The Unpacking. I didn't include any shots of my office because, really, who wants pictures of their office plastered on the Internet anyway?

More Details on the Move

We're all hard at work moving to our new location. Yesterday and today we've been moving office contents, and Monday and Tuesday will be the big warehouse move.

Our new address, starting next week, is:

Atlas Games
885 Pierce Butler Route
Saint Paul, MN 55104
USA

Our phone and fax numbers will remain the same. There will be some interruption in service, however, and we expect to be unable to get e-mail at work for at least a week while DSL gets set up at the new location.

So if we're hard to reach, you know why. :)

Can't talk. Moving.

To Go Has Gone
The newest Unknown Armies title, To Go, is shipping to distributors today. It's just a few weeks from your local retailer, then. You'll see more about this book on our website next week, so keep your eyes peeled.

Atl@s Updates
The newest issue of the Atlas Updates newsletter was sent to subscribers this afternoon. I honestly mention this only to rub it in the noses of those of who do not subscribe. If you'd like the subscribe, send an email to info@atlas-games.com from the account where you'd like the near-monthly newsletter sent. If you'd like me to stop talking about Atlas Updates, skip to the end of this sentence.

Ancestral Vault Gets the EN World Treatment
EN World has posted a new review of Ancestral Vault. Have a look at it and then let us know what you think of the book on our forums.

Let me personally soap-box here for a minute and say how great it is that we still have EN World around to spread the word on the industry and share the straight dope with everyone. My hat is off to Morrus and Company as always. Beyond that, I applaude everyone who stepped up to help. It was an incredible display of fellowship and community, and it couldn't have happened to nicer people.

New Dungeoneer PDF From Designer Denmark
Thomas Denmark, the designer and illustrator of the new expandable, non-collectible card game Dungeoneer, is offering a free new PDF for new and old players alike. It's a guide to playing the game, a fitting counterpart to the complete rules posted to the Dungeoneer web page last week. Follow that link to download a copy the "How to Play Dungeoneer" PDF for yourself.

Or, get the PDF right now by clicking here.

The snow has started up here in the Twin Cities. That's all for fall, I guess. We hardly knew ye.

This is the latest update I sent around to our distributors on Friday.

Atlas Games Distributor Update
Halloween, 2003

Order Deadline Monday

Just to remind everyone, Monday is the order deadline for three things: the Once Upon A Time reprint (AG1001, $20.95), the new Unknown Armies hardcover To Go (AG6008, $29.95), and for non-US customers only, the Dork20 Deck (AG3227, $12.95). Thank you to the folks who already gave me their numbers.

The next order deadline (as previously announced) will be November 17, for Dork20 (US customers) and Blood of the Valiant (Feng Shui RPG, AG4010, $29.95).

Almost Sold Out: Postmodern Magick
After the latest round of restock orders this week, I have only six copies of AG6003 Postmodern Magick left for sale, then it will be out of print. First come, first served. There are no plans for a reprint. [EDIT: The last copies are already taken by a UK distributor, so this book is now officially out of print. Note that there should still be a lot of copies available for sale from retailers, including Warehouse 23 -- we just won't be able to resupply those folks when they sell through their existing stock.]

Love & War Rescheduled

You may have noticed our release schedule has been pretty busy this fall. We've decided, consequently, to push back the release of the Penumbra hardcover Love and War (AG3226, $29.95) until February of 2004 -- appropriately enough, that makes it a Valentine's Day holiday release. There will also be an Ars Magica book in February; details to come soon.

Dec. 1 Order Deadline: SG2, Faerie Stories

There are two other books at press currently: Sacred Ground II (Penumbra D20; AG3225, $19.95) and Faerie Stories (Ars Magica RPG, AG0271, $22.95). The order deadline for these books is Monday, Dec. 1. At this point I do not yet know if we will ship them together or separately.

In any case, those two books will finish off our new releases for a very busy 2003!

Moving Offices

In the next couple of weeks we will be moving to a new location. Next week, at least, I will still be coordinating the shipments from our current location. We may not be able to ship orders during the week of Nov. 10-15, during which the bulk of our moving should take place. I hope that we will be able to keep the same phone and fax number in the new building, but I don't yet know for certain.
