Dispatches:
News from Atlas Games

Available on RPGNow: Houses of Hermes

Over the weekend I found some time to distill a PDF of another long-time top seller in the Ars Magica product line: Houses of Hermes by Jonathan Tweet. Houses is not yet out of print, but since we only have a half dozen or so copies left in our warehouse, it will be very soon. So if you're interested in a print copy, don't delay in seeking one from your friendly local game store or Warehouse 23.

Houses of Hermes will not be reprinted. In 5th Edition, the book will be replaced by a series of three sourcebooks, each covering four houses. The first, True Lineages, is likely to appear in April of 2005; and another in each of the subsequent years.

New Ars Magica Promo!

Even though Will's away, we've still got new Ars Magica promos with which to play. Check out Grim & Half-Grim at www.atlas-games.com/arm5

Back in Stock

Today our printer delivered two very important reprints to our warehouse: Feng Shui and Unknown Armies 2nd Edition. You might not have noticed that they sold out (after all, copies have still been in distributor warehouses and on store shelves), but if you had any trouble finding either one, now your favorite game or book store should be able to get it for you easily.

Out of Stock

In other news, two other RPGs are now sold out. Over the Edge 2nd Edition is out of stock, but we'll reprint it in 2005 (tentatively in March). Rune is also gone from our shelves, but it has the status of "out of print" -- we are not planning to reprint this wonderful game of Viking mayhem, sadly. If you've been thinking about getting either one of these classic, innovative games for your collection, don't delay. As I write this, Warehouse 23 (who handle our mail order) probably has copies of both still in stock...but as time goes on, they'll be harder to find. When OTE does come back, it's certain to have a price increase, since its present $25 pricetag dates back to 1997.

Nyambe.com Reborn!

Nyambe.com has been reborn as the premiere Nyambe fan site! And it has a new, updated look to celebrate its new home. Check it out now!

Will and Sara, Sittin' in a Tree ...

Will won't be in the office for the next two weeks, since he'll be in sunny, fun-filled England on his HONEYMOON! That's right, he and Sara are tying the knot this weekend. We wish them all the best, and a long and happy life together.

I Voted!

Today I'm proudly wearing an "I Voted" sticker. Michelle and I stopped at the local polling station on the way to work today, since this is primary election day in Minnesota. I know primaries don't tend to get that much attention, and I've been as guilty as anyone in neglecting them before now -- I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever even voted in one! But their importance is clear. After all, who hasn't complained of the general election being a choice of "the lesser of two evils"? Well, in the primary, you get the chance to determine who will be on that general ballot for the party of your choice.

If you're in Minnesota, see if you can't make time to find out who the candidates are in your precinct, what they stand for...and stop by the polls to cast your own vote. The more people do, the better choices we'll have on the ballot in November.

Ars Magica 5th Edition Cover-in-Progress

Today's treat is a sneak peek at J. Scott Reeves' cover design for Ars Magica 5th Edition. Fans of the game may recognize some of the iconography -- the four Realms, the twelve Founders, etc. (And, true to the game, Diedne was "airbrushed out," Trotsky-like, to be replaced by Pralix to fill out the Twelve.)

Two New Dungeoneer Sets Arrive at Atlas' Secret Warehouse
Just as I was getting ready to post Thomas Denmark's second Dungeoneer Wilderness Decks Preview, ("A Mad, Mad World") guess what happened? That's right: the Dungeoneer Wilderness Decks arrived in our warehouse! The good news is they look great. The bad news is you'll have to take my word for it until they arrive at your local store in the next week or so.

Wait. That's not true. You can look at the two previews of the game currently posted at Dungeoneer.net! That'll give you an idea how the games look.

Yes, you should go do that right away.

New Dungeoneer Preview Articles by Thomas Denmark!
Dungeoneer designer and lead illustrator Thomas Denmark presents the first of five new preview articles examining the two new sets of Dungeoneer cards due later this month. Each PDF article, written by Thomas Denmark, gives you a glimpse of new cards, new game features, and an insider's look at how the game functions and why.

The first preview takes a look at new card symbols from the forthcoming two-player set, The Haunted Woods of Malthorin. Get it now from Dungeoneer.net!
