Other Atlas RPGs Small hardcovers

Hi all,

I picked up Splintered Peace as a Christmas present to myself yesterday, and it's my first encounter with one of Atlas' smaller books being released in hardcover. (Is it the first?) Anyhow, what I'm wondering about is trying to flatten the book, as the covers have a curve that cause it to open to about twice the thickness of the actual text.

If I stick it under a bunch of larger hardcovers, will the cover flatten properly, or might that do some stretch damage near the spine? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Chris

P.S. The book itself looks really good. I'll probably make a separate post when I've actually finished reading it.

I think it should help.

I've noticed, over the years, that "fresh" hardcovers seem most inclined to warping. Ones that come out of the warehouse later don't so much. My suspicion is that, by sitting a few months more packed in boxes, with all the weight/pressure, they keep their proper form.

It is, I should add, the smallest in page count among the Penumbra hardcovers. Actually, it's probably the smallest Atlas hardcover so far, across all the lines.

It seems thin compared to a lot of today's hardcovers (*cough* Penumbra Bestiary *cough*), but it has the same number of pages (112) as the original AD&D Monster Manual.

Thanks, John, I guess I'll give it a shot (when I don't have the book out to read it!). For what little it's worth, all three of the copies of Splintered Peace at my FLGS were similarly warped... I picked out the one that seemed best. :-/
