The adventure begins in the desert at TRU Entertainment's Devil's Anvil Test Facility. A routine test of military virtual reality equipment goes suddenly awry, leaving the streets of Babylon strewn with the bodies of TRU security officers. In the words of one Devil's Anvil employee, TRU is experiencing a few "technical difficulties."
The PCs are hired to "clean up" the mess. From there, a series of terrorist acts and cryptic messages left at the scene of each crime lead them on a hazardous journey to the dark heart of the City of Fallen Angels. The final conflict pushes the player characters' physical, mental, and ethical limits. Will the characters' journey through virtual hell leave them as experienced corporate raiders? Or will they join the forces of resistance and become members of the Underground? The choice, and consequences, are theirs.
