The World of Squirrel or Die
Squirrel life is not all nuts and games. In Squirrel or Die, we explore the mental rigors of surviving the hide-or-go-starve-to-death dilemmas of the modern tree rodent. Do you have what it takes to be the last varmint standing?
Squirrel or Die is a tile game which takes 20 min or less to play. Game play is split into Autumn (hide food) and Winter (eat food) phases. Your goal is to be the only squirrel to survive winter. In the Autumn phase, you take turns discovering new tiles and setting up the board. In the Winter phase, you consume what you “squirreled away” in autumn and try to last as long you can.
Squirrel or Die was released with three variant cover images, each as morbidly compelling as the others.
The deluxe "hand made" tile version is sold conventions and a select few retailers. 2018 will be the end of the "Cherry" and "Ebony" stain wood tile versions. You might still find them at Origins Game Fair and GenCon 2018.
Additionally, there are super deluxe limited editions of Squirrel or Die as companion games to other Kickstarters. End of the Line featured the "Nuclear Green Post-Apocalyptic" version in 2016. With Processing: a Game of Serving Humanity, there was an "Alien Abduction" version (also, limited and hand numbered.)
